Hi! I'm Nevaeh Reed, a San Francisco State University journalism student born and raised in the heart of Hunters Point.
Growing up, I always felt different from the kids around me. I've seen stories unfold in my neighborhood; powerful, painful, beautiful ones, that never made it into the headlines. I care about journalism because I've lived through stories that deserve to be told, including mine. I knew early on that I had a gift for writing, and I decided to use it, to give voice to people who've been overlooked and to contribute something meaningful to my community.
Right now, I'm open to telling any story that deserves attention, especially those rooted in the Bay Area. Whether it's a deep dive into local issues, a profile of someone making quiet waves, or a capture of a cultural moment, we all have something worth sharing.
If you ever want to bribe me into a conversation, my coffee order is basic: a vanilla latte with caramel. Don't judge me.
